AM I GETTING DUMMER?

Yes. I think most definately yes I am getiing dummber. Not that I ever had that great a vocabulary to begin with, but now that I talk with a two and three year old all day, I find I am forgetting how to talk. I don't just forget the big words any more, I forget simple words. Right in the middle of a sentence I will forget what I was even talking about, But I reached a breaking point in my dumbness at my kids pediatric dentist. I hope I will never have a story to top this one.... but ya just never know with me. I took my kids to the dentist and we were sitting in the waiting room and there was a mother in there with us and she was talking to her little boy who looked like he was about ten. They were talking in another language. I asked them where they were from and they said Argentina. We were then taken back to see the dentist. As we were waiting, the dentist walked by and was speaking to the woman in her language. He came in with his assistant and greeted us. I asked him if he went to Argentina on his mission. He said he did. I should have stopped there. I then proceeded to say, " oh that is so cool... so you speak... Argen..tin..ian?" right as it came out I wanted to suck it back in. The nurse shot a look back at me that said, you dummy did you really just say that? The dentist smiled a little and said, " Um sort of ...Spanish." Oh crap I thought any chance of him thinking me a decent smart human being just walked right out the door. How does one recover from such a blunder? " I was like for some reason thinking Argentina was somewhere over by Europe. With that story, I leave you all now, hopefully I have made you feel smart. and hopefully you are all still my friends.

You make me feel like I'm normal, I do so many things like that. I only have two kids, what's my excuse, and before I had Jack, only one! Oh my and before that...

Oh my gosh, you make me laugh. I'm not laughing at you, but with you. I can totally relate. I think kids make you dumber and I don't know why. I'm also super forgetful and can't remember where I put things.

You crack me up! Sadly I can totally relate! That thing they say about pregnancy and having kids making you dummer is TRUE! I swear I can't remember words, names, etc. It sucks because I HATE forgetting names!
I have "brain age" on my ninentdo DS and its supposed to help keep your brain young, and let me just say I desperately need to get back to doing it!!

I know what you mean. Lately Jack has been cooing more so I talk to him in a high pitched voice and the other day I accidently said something to jared in a high pitched baby voice. Stupid! I think it means we need to get out more.

That is a great story, don't feel bad. It happenst to the best of us. I have a problem with remembering things. It's terrible, I get so mad at myself.

That's great!! If it makes you feel better, if I hadn't stopped to think about it, I would have thought maybe something like Armenian. I could have said the same thing. We all do fun things like that. I will be sure to post next time I do something brilliant like that if it would make you feel better.

Hi Natelli
I was excited to see you comment. I have been peeking at your cute family.
I love the story, and I can relate. I never was smart, but now I'm just plain dumb:)
Your kids are darling. I'll be keeping in touch from now on.
About Daina... I occasionally see her, but not much. She's cute as ever, and stays busy working and being a mom.
I told her she needed to start a blog, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.
