I love this quote from little women (thanks Kirsten for brining it to my attention)

" I only care what you think of yourself, if you feel your value lies in merely being decorative, I fear that someday you might find that's all you really are. Time erodes such beauty, what it cannot diminish is the wonderful workings of your mind, your humor, your kindness and your moral courage. These are the things I cherish so in you. "

I love this quote and I love that movie. Me and Melissa used to watch it right up to the part where Christian Bale proposes but before Jo can tell him no. I guess we really wanted her to marry him. It's very true, too. Even the most physically attractive people will one day not be so much, even with the botox and what not, but it's really all about the essence of yourself that remains attractive to people.

Yeah! I have to keep it in mind a LOT these days. That book (and movie) has so many jewels of wisdom peppered throughout it, I can't get enough. I notice LM Alcott showcasing a different virtue every time I watch it. Forgiveness, humility, charity, honesty, sacrifice, hard work, and the moral courage thing of course. How many books/movies glamourize virtue any more? Painted veil did that very well. If you haven't seen it, you should. A woman gets all hot and bothered for a man because he's a good guy. Plus he's Edward Norton and that helps.

Ya, Ya, Ya - inner beauty is the most important thing. I got it! So it doesn't matter about your hair - then I might change my vote to "shave it"!
Just kidding - I just want to see if my picture worked. :)
